Privacy Statement
Central New York Chapter #401 of the National Association of Women in Construction, Inc. ("Central New York Chapter #401," "Chapter," "we," "our," or "us") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Chapter collects, uses, shares, and protects information provided through Chapter activities, including meetings, events, sponsorships, registration forms, payment links, email communications, social media pages, and membership-related activities.
This Privacy Policy supplements, but does not replace, any privacy policy maintained by NAWIC National. NAWIC National systems, including MemberSuite, the NAWIC Mobile App, national membership platforms, and other national systems, may be governed by NAWIC National's privacy policy and related terms.
The Chapter does not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
Information We Collect
The Chapter may collect information voluntarily provided to us, including contact information, company or organization, job title, membership status, event registration information, sponsorship information, payment-related information, volunteer information, photographs, or other information submitted through Chapter forms, emails, registration platforms, payment links, or communications.
The Chapter may also receive limited member or roster information from NAWIC National for official Chapter purposes.
Payment information may be processed through third-party platforms. The Chapter does not store full credit card numbers, bank account information, or payment credentials unless necessary for a specific authorized Chapter purpose.
How We Use Information
The Chapter may use information to communicate with members, prospective members, sponsors, speakers, volunteers, and event attendees; manage Chapter meetings, events, programs, sponsorships, fundraising, and membership-related activities; process registrations, sponsorships, donations, dues, or other payments; maintain Chapter records; conduct Chapter business; recognize sponsors, speakers, volunteers, award recipients, and participants; respond to questions or feedback; and comply with legal, financial, tax, insurance, organizational, and NAWIC-related obligations.
Sharing of Information
The Chapter may share limited information when necessary for Chapter purposes, including with NAWIC National, NAWIC regional leadership, authorized Chapter representatives, service providers, vendors, event sponsors, exhibitors, partners, or legal, financial, insurance, or compliance contacts.
Chapter rosters and member information shall be used only for NAWIC-related purposes and shall not be sold, rented, distributed, or used for personal, political, commercial, or unrelated business purposes.
Where practical, attendees may request to opt out of sponsor or exhibitor attendee lists before the applicable list is distributed.
National Systems and Third-Party Platforms
Certain member information may appear in NAWIC National directories, MemberSuite, the NAWIC Mobile App, or other national systems based on NAWIC National's policies and the member's settings. The Chapter does not control all national directory settings or app visibility functions.
Chapter event pages, registration pages, payment links, social media pages, or other third-party platforms may use cookies, analytics, or similar technologies. Third-party platforms have their own privacy policies and practices, and the Chapter is not responsible for the privacy or security practices of those platforms.
Photos and Public Recognition
The Chapter may take photographs or videos at Chapter events and may use event images, names, company names, sponsor logos, speaker information, volunteer recognition, or award recognition in Chapter communications, newsletters, social media, presentations, or promotional materials.
Individuals who do not want to be photographed or publicly identified should notify the Chapter before or during the event. The Chapter will make reasonable efforts to honor such requests.
Data Retention and Security
The Chapter retains information only as long as reasonably necessary for Chapter, legal, financial, operational, tax, insurance, governance, historical, or organizational purposes.
Central New York Chapter #401 is organized and operated in New York and intends to handle personal information in a manner consistent with applicable New York privacy and data security requirements, including reasonable safeguards for covered private information.
If the Chapter becomes aware of a potential unauthorized access, acquisition, or disclosure of covered private information, the Chapter will work with NAWIC National, applicable service providers, legal counsel, and other appropriate resources to determine any required response or notification under applicable law.
Children's Privacy
The Chapter's online services and activities are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. The Chapter does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
The Chapter may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by revising the effective date above.
